Say Hello to Our Newest US Citizen

Abdulla Diriye Becomes a US Citizen

Please join us in congratulating Abdulla Diriye for earning his U.S. citizenship on Monday, September 9th. Abdul joined the Navajo family in 2017 as a local driver in Salt Lake City, UT. Abdul has been beyond anxious to get his citizenship, so he made sure to study diligently for the written exam. Dedication pays off! Two weeks ago he aced the required written exam.

Abdul’s journey to American started in 2013 when he fled civil war in Ethiopia and wound up in Uganda. In Uganda, Catholic Charities sponsored him which lead to him attaining a green card and eventually coming to America. When not at work Abdul likes to spend time with his wife Lul and he especially likes helping his children with their homework. His Daughter Ismahn (19) is currently going to college and with his help, his Sons Abdi Fatah (15) and Abdi Hakim (14) are soon to follow.

Abdul says he came to America to succeed and to provide his family with a better life. He would like to thank everybody at Navajo for their support and that may “God bless all of you”.
